Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules and guidelines for using the Schedio platform. By using our Service, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

1. Scope

1.1 Who This Applies To

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to:

  • All registered users and account holders ("Tenants")
  • Employees and team members added to Tenant accounts
  • Customers who book appointments through the platform
  • Any individual or entity accessing our Service

1.2 Relationship to Terms of Service

This AUP supplements and is incorporated into our Terms of Service. In case of conflict, the Terms of Service shall prevail unless this AUP specifically addresses the issue.

2. Prohibited Activities

When using Schedio, you must not engage in any of the following activities:

2.1 Illegal Activities

  • Use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by applicable laws
  • Facilitate, promote, or engage in illegal transactions
  • Violate intellectual property rights of others
  • Engage in money laundering or terrorist financing
  • Operate illegal gambling or lottery schemes

2.2 Spam and Unsolicited Communications

  • Send bulk unsolicited emails, SMS, or other messages through the platform
  • Use the Service to collect email addresses or contact information for spam
  • Create fake appointments to harvest contact information
  • Send deceptive or misleading communications to customers

2.3 Harassment and Abuse

  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users or customers
  • Engage in stalking or unwanted contact
  • Publish personal information of others without consent ("doxing")
  • Engage in discriminatory practices based on protected characteristics

2.4 Security Violations

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or network
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without authorization
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or associated infrastructure
  • Bypass security measures or access controls

2.5 Rate Limit Evasion

  • Circumvent API rate limits through multiple accounts or other means
  • Use automated tools to make excessive requests
  • Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions

2.6 Data Scraping

  • Use automated tools to extract data from the Service without permission
  • Compile data from the Service for competing products
  • Download or copy substantial portions of user data

2.7 Impersonation

  • Impersonate any person, business, or entity
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with any organization
  • Create accounts using false or misleading information
  • Use another person's credentials without authorization

3. Prohibited Content

You must not upload, store, or transmit any content that:

3.1 Illegal Content

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains or promotes illegal goods or services
  • Contains child sexual abuse material (CSAM)

3.2 Hate Speech

  • Promotes violence or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Contains slurs, derogatory language, or symbols associated with hate groups

3.3 Violent Content

  • Glorifies, promotes, or instructs violence against people or animals
  • Contains graphic depictions of violence
  • Threatens physical harm to individuals or groups

3.4 Adult Content

  • Sexually explicit material (unless your business is a legally operating adult entertainment venue and such content is restricted to appropriate contexts)
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery

3.5 Misleading Information

  • False or deceptive information about your services or business
  • Fake reviews or testimonials
  • Misleading claims about qualifications or credentials
  • Phishing attempts or social engineering

4. Resource Usage Limits

To ensure fair usage and platform stability, the following limits apply:

4.2 Storage Limits

Storage limits vary by plan and apply to:

  • Uploaded files and images
  • Appointment history and records
  • Customer data

4.3 Bandwidth and Compute

Excessive resource consumption that impacts other users or system stability may result in temporary throttling or suspension. We will notify you and work with you to resolve issues before taking action.

5. Enforcement

We take violations of this policy seriously. Our enforcement process is designed to be fair and proportionate.

5.1 Warning Process

For minor or first-time violations, we typically:

  1. Send a warning notification explaining the violation
  2. Request that you remediate the issue within a specified timeframe
  3. Provide guidance on how to comply with our policies

5.2 Suspension

We may suspend your account if:

  • You fail to address a violation after warning
  • The violation is severe or poses immediate risk
  • You have a pattern of repeated violations

During suspension, you will retain access to your data but cannot use the Service.

5.3 Termination

We may terminate your account immediately for:

  • Severe violations (illegal activity, security threats, CSAM)
  • Repeated violations after warnings
  • Fraudulent activity

5.4 Appeals Process

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by:

  1. Emailing abuse@schedio.com within 14 days of the action
  2. Providing a detailed explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect
  3. Including any supporting evidence

We will review appeals within 5 business days and respond with our decision.

6. Reporting Violations

6.1 How to Report

If you become aware of a violation of this policy, please report it to us:

6.2 What to Include

When reporting a violation, please include:

  • Description of the violation
  • URL or account information (if known)
  • Screenshots or evidence (if available)
  • Your contact information (optional, but helpful)

6.3 Response Timeline

  • Acknowledgment: Within 24 hours
  • Initial Assessment: Within 48 hours
  • Resolution: Varies based on complexity and severity

6.4 Confidentiality

Reports are treated confidentially. We will not disclose your identity to the reported party without your consent, unless required by law.
